The selection of finalists is based on a set of criteria developed by the show producer including having been interviewed on The Author Show and submitting an essay that speaks to why you enjoy writing and what prompted you to become an author.

The public will vote digitally for their preferred author(s) in the finalist’s pool.  The 50 authors with the most votes will be included in the 2011 edition of “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading.”

I am so very excited to share with you, on this most special day of the year, that I had my very first TV interview with Craig Coughlin of Woodbridge, NJ’s TV35 program “About the Town.” About the Town is a program hosted by Woodbridge’s own Craig Coughlin dedicated to promoting Woodbridge, NJ.

I had the privilege to be interviewed by him about my book “Wise Words & Witty Expressions.”  And, it is no mistake that our interviewed aired on St. Patrick’s Day.  I could not have asked for a better St. Patrick’s Day gift.  This is certainly one St. Patty’s Day I won’t forget soon.

It is wonderful to see her remembered and honored in articles such as this.

I am pleased to announce that patch.com interviewed me for an article about “Wise Words & Witty Expressions.” The article discusses how my grandmother’s journey to the United States from County Mayo Ireland so many years ago still inspires me today.  It is such a thrill for me that my grandmother, long since passed and whose life was anything but easy, is now being publicly recognized for her wit and wisdom.  And that wit and wisdom has carried on to not only inspire me but others as well.
