Wise Words & Witty Expressions Celebrates its First Anniversary
Can you believe that on September 27 Wise Words & Witty Expressions will celebrate its first anniversary. What an incredible year it has been.
I remember returning from my vacation to Italy and learning that my first books were shipped. What an amazing feeling to hold your book in your hands for the first time. I thought to myself, this is really happening, all that hard work produced a beautiful book. I was over the moon and so was my mother, who was with me when we both held the book for the first time.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize my mother for agreeing to come out of retirement for no pay to help me at book signings, drive sales, manage my inventory, shipping, sales receipts and for being a great listener. Thanks Mom! It has been such a joy to work with you on this project!
I would also like to thank all of you for your support, kind notes, encouraging words and for faithfully reading my newsletter each month. I really look forward to writing it so I can share with you the progress my book is making. I am constantly amazed at the new opportunities that present themselves and the new people I get to meet while getting the word out about my book. Having an audience to share your success with just makes it all the more special. Thank you!
Here’s to looking forward to another successful year for Wise Words & Witty Expressions!
The Month in Review
Well, I thought for sure August would be a very slow month, but once again, I was pleasantly surprised.
The Irish American Cultural Institute (IACI) asked me to be a guest writer for their monthly member newsletter. I published my first article in August. I am truly looking forward sharing with the IACI the power of Irish wisdom imparted on me by my family.
I am thrilled to be making a small contribution to the success of an organization devoted to the contributions made by Irish Americans. I am sure my late grandmother would be very proud.
The IACI was founded in 1962 and is the leading Irish American cultural organization. The IACI is a federally recognized 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit national organization devoted to promoting an intelligent appreciation of Ireland and the role and contributions of the Irish in America. The IACI is strictly apolitical and nonsectarian, and is the only Irish American organization that has as its patron, The President of Ireland.
The Irish Echo’s, August 4-10 newspaper edition published an article titled, “Some Summer Reading” where they made some suggestions for books to read this summer. I am very pleased to announce that Wise Words & Witty Expressions was included in their summer reading list.
The Irish Echo is the largest circulated Irish American weekly newspaper with a 50-state subscription base, was founded in 1928 and is a national tabloid found on newsstands in major American cities every Wednesday.
