The Month in Review
 
It’s summertime and the living is easy.  I hope you are all enjoying your summer with family and friends.
 
I just have to share that I had a once in lifetime opportunity this summer.  I was attending a social media conference at the NASDAQ in New York City and as part of the conference all the attendees were invited to ring the NASDAQ closing bell on Friday, June 18.  What a thrill. Pictures were posted on the NASDAQ tower, TVs in Times Square and it was broadcast all over the world.  I can now say that my picture was posted in Times Square.  It was very cool and all the members of the NASDAQ team were terrific hosts.  Click here to see the link to the NASDAQ with photos from the event.  In one of the podium photos, you can see me on the left in a black jacket.  In the group picture outside of the NASDAQ, I am on the right.

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I thought I would not be doing any book events this summer but much to my pleasant surprise that has changed.  Barnes & Noble has invited me to participate in a local author book signing at their Edison, NJ location on Friday, July 16 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  This is particularly exciting because Edison, NJ is right in my own neighborhood.  Friends have already said they would be attending and I can’t wait to see you guys.  If you are going to be in the area, please stop by and say hello.

I was also interviewed by “Upstart Smart,” a web resource that imparts ways to grow a business and learn how to be a solopreneur by sharing in the experiences of others.   As a new entrepreneur, I was very excited to have an opportunity to share with others what I have learned about creating awareness for a new book, especially when you are an unknown quantity and are struggling to become “discoverable” amongst all the traffic and content on the internet today.  Click here to read more about “Upstart Smart” and my interview with them.
