Don’t Bring Shame to your Father’s Name

In honor of Father’s Day, I have selected an expression from my book that my mother said to me often growing up to remind me that my behavior reflects on my father’s good name and that I should make sure that his name remained honorable.

Father’s are such an important part of our lives.  The impact they have on their children is significant.  They teach us little things and big things; they worry about us and work hard to make sure we have all the opportunity they can provide.  They stand behind us when we are down and build us up so that we can go out and tackle the world again.  When we experience success, they are so proud that they push out their chests and tell everyone they can, “that is my child.”
